How to receive phone calls on Google Talk

This article teaches you how to receive phone calls on Google Talk for free.
You need to register the following services:
- Google Talk
- GTalk-To-VOIP
- Sipnumber
- GrandCentral (optional)
Once you install Google Talk, go to GTalk-To-VOIP and use the subscription menu to sign-up. You will get a new friend request from “service@gtalk2voip.com”. Accept it! (You can also invite new friend “service@gtalk2voip.com” from your Google Talk.)
GTalk-To-VOIP lets you receive incoming SIP calls on Google Talk for free. So, what we need now is a free phone-to-SIP service. So, go to register an account on Sipnumber. It will assign you a US phone number, and let you forward any incoming call to a SIP URL for free. (I believe that there are other similar services providing phone number in other countries.)
After the registration, login Sipnumber, and in the Dashboard menu you can set call forwarding. If your Google Talk account is USER@gmail.com, your SIP URL will be sip:USER@gtalk2voip.com. Set the call forwarding to forward all your calls to your SIP URL.
Now you should be able to receive incoming calls on Google Talk. When someone calls the phone number given by Sipnumber, your Google Talk will ring!!
If you wanna have a local number, you need to register GrandCentral and set call forwarding from GrandCentral number to the number from Sipnumber.
If you wanna receive calls using your current (cell) phone number, please read this post: How to Integrate GrandCentral with Your Cell Phone Service.
Have fun!!
